Too Selfish To Share?

It makes me sad when I meet people who have knowledge in a particular area and are unwilling to share with others. When I started writing children's books there was so much that I didn't know. In fact, I didn't even know how much I didn't know! Since the beginning of my new career, I have met two types of people - those who share and those who do not, or simply the selfish and the unselfish.

In my way of thinking, the more we share in any particular field, the better that field will become. Just like "a whole is greater than the sum of its parts." I am eternally grateful for the unselfish people whose advice has kept me from making some major blunders. One of my goals is to "pay it forward" and offer advice to those who wish to learn from my mistakes rather than theirs. Things can only get better if we all do this.

C'mon everyone. Let's loosen up and share.

I agree, Bobbie. I have met so many generous people, and found out very quickly who they were. I also found out which ones were simply not interested.

I hope I'm in the former category! You get what you give, and helping others can only bring rewards.

The best advice I ever got was to establish a strong online presence. After four years, it's finally paying off.

Yes, you are so right. I wish people realized that giving to others doesn't mean that they are taking anything away from themselves.

What a wonderful sentiment, Bobbie! If we all do our part to help others, the world would be a better place.

I do my best to help others when I have the appropriate knowledge to pass to them. In fact, sometimes, I find people wanting me to stop talking! LOL

Thanks for the reminder to "pay it forward!"

We just watched a repeat of "Pay It Forward" (2000). Great reminder!!

I am a firm believer in creating your own good karma, which is a direct result of how you conduct your life. What goes around, comes around as they say. I guess I don't think about it much because it's just the way I was raised. I do think of it, however, when I run into people who are so far the other way. It stuns me.

Thanks for the great reminder.
